My truck is new and I want the smooth and textures black plastic to stay that way. What protectant will work the best ?

    Ult. Protectant is always nice.

And you can use the Ult. Quick Wax or Gold Class Quick Wax on all surfaces after future washings.

Is this the same as the inside Ult. Protectant?

Ult. Black and Ult. Protectant are the same, one is in a spray bottle, and one is a lotion. Up to you which type you prefer.

The Ult. Quick Wax is a different product.

First of all, make sure your trim is squeaky clean for the best bonding of UP. Like Murr, I prefer to use wax over the protectant, as durability seems to be considerably longer than protectant alone IMO.

              Re: keeping black plastic black

Out of habit and perhaps no other reason, I use Ultimate Protectant on the rough textured and #40 Rubber and Vinyl Protectant on smooth plastic. I pour it into a cup and use either the small cylinder shaped foam applicators on a stick or cheap foam brushes I pick up at the paint store. Most common smooth plastic for me is the windshield wiper cowl. I usually have to get it with the hood open and hood closed to be able to reach all of it.

I usually put either product on the applicator, then the car. I rarely spray directly on to the car. I get it everywhere.

I've been using Ultimate Wax-LIQUID for the black trim for a couple of years. Works well.

                Just my $.02.
