Is it okay to use Safe D-Greaser to clean wheels? Thanks, Wes

  • #2
I have been using Safe D to clean clear coated wheel at 10 to 1 dilution level, In my experience it does an o-kay job on wheel's, however this product's really shines on wheel well's and tire's. Look for something else for wheel cleaning especially if they have a lot of break dust.

      Safe-D

Thanks George Wax, I was worried that Safe-D might be to strong for wheels. I don't want to use anything that might harm the wheels. So does a 10 to one mixture seem safe for cleaning wheels? Thanks, Wes

What kind of finish do your wheels have? If they are non-cc'd aluminum or anodized you may want to avoid using the degreaser. Otherwise, your 10:1 mix is good.

That 10:1 mix should be fine then. Just be sure to aviod getting it on the paint and make sure you get if all off when you are finished to avoid any problems.

I wonder how strong the Meguiar's Detailer Line All Wheel Cleaner is?

I depends on how much you dilute it. It does a pretty good job of quickly removing brake dust even at 4:1. If you want a good and very economical wheel cleaner, that wheel brightener is your best bet.

                            Tire and Wheel cleaner.

Can anyone tell me a tire and wheel cleaner that is safe for all wheels and is economical? I have a Detailing Business and I have not found a product I like or feel is safe. I have been using E1
A/Z cleaner but this is to expensive to use on clients cars. Thanks for any help, Wes
