  • DAMF System Video???

Any videos on the correct use o the DAMF system on here? I know there is a change from using the regular DA Polisher. I have my first full correction in 2 weeks coming up. Red paint on a 1998 GMC Yukon. He wants it swirl free, so I need to make sure I'm doing the system right to get the results.

I did see it in action during the autogeek event a few weeks ago while streaming live, but didn't pay too much attention since I didn't want to get off track from learning the DA Polisher techniques! I may head over there to their site and see if they have that segment somewhere.

    Thanks for any info!!!

Check out the video below and then read through the more in-depth How To article HERE That should get you pretty well set for your first go with the DAMF System.

I found that video as well as another on Autogeek's Show Car Garage Series. A couple differences that should be noted, Jason in the AG SCG series videos explains the proper pad priming, where your vid shows just applying several drops of each item on the pads. Also I noticed it says to allow product to dry on the Meg's vid while the AG SCG vid, Jason says it really doesn't need to dry. Please confirm these 2 points I mentioned.

Also after the Correction Compound, I plan to follow with UP and then the Finishing was. This will work together great. I believe you Michael, mentioned that, in another of my threads. Just wanting to make sure I get this right and get the results my customer wants. He wants swirls removed and I intend on doing that with this system. I also have the soft buff yellow and black pads that I use with UC and just recently made an order with M105 and M205 to add to my collection of goodies.

Do the 3" DMC3 pads use the S3BP?

          Yes.

From the article Mike posted in his response above:

Was ordering some pads and noticed that. Thank for the reply though. I already have it, so I'm good

Apologies for the delay getting back to you as I've been out sick for a couple of days.

Priming the pad before using D300 is critical, but after that you need just 3 pea sized drops of product per work area. D301 Finishing Wax can be wiped off right away or left to dry, either way works. In most cases you're going to cover the entire car with wax and then wipe off, and since D301 dries so quickly, by the time you've covered the car the area you started on will be pretty much dry anyway. The compound should be wiped off right away though, as per usual.

It's actually pretty common for people to follow D300 with a different finishing polish, like UP or M205, before waxing. If the paint is very soft it is possible to get a DA haze with the compound and cutting disc due to the aggressive nature. In most cases D301 and the finishing disc is enough to correct this but on really soft black paint you may really want that intermediate step. You'll know soon enough (with your test spot, of course) what process you need.

Well I have 2 corrections booked. 1st one is a 1998 GMC Yukon with the bright red paint. 2nd one is a 2007 Teal Mazda RX8

Both very swirled. Don't know hoe either paint is yet in regards to hard/soft, but we'll see.
