Exactly… I guess??? #7 is not a paint cleaner or an abrasive polish that needs to be "worked" to remove stains, swirls, or other defects. I don't use #7 as a paint correction product, but more of a "beauty" product.

I simply apply #7 in light, circular, slightly overlapping motions. IMHO, the light circular motions (or the action of the PC) are enough to "work" a pure polish. The back and forth and side to side motions accomplishes the same thing... a thin, uniform layer of the product.

I apply it similar to the way one would apply NXT or most waxes/sealant, and have been doing so for many years. Then again, maybe I'm wrong?

      Hey Boss,

You say Tomato, I say Tomatoe; either way, it is still a fruit! Seriously, I believe that yourself, Mike and I are all saying the same things in just different ways.

      Now...about those steelheads....

Oh no! Tomatos are fruit??? I've been giving people on the vegetable forum bad information too!

Yeah, I think we are all saying pretty much the same thing.

Betcha you did not know that Tomatoes were once considered a deadly poison, even in the early part of 20th century. The acid in the tomatoe would absorb lead that was used in most plates. This lead caused lead poisoning!

Thanks as I said before I did not work on one yet and I would have tried #80 before I would go out and get another product. Its good to hear that I won't need to get a specific polish for that application.

              SLK350 - Nxt'd

As promised, here are some pix of my friend's SLK 350.

Just 1 coat of Nxt applied with a finishing pad. She'll come back tomorrow for the 2nd coat.

              BEFORE

              AFTER

              (looks darker and wet)

I was too tired to clay and do the glaze. but my friend is already very happy.

Since then I've done another black Benz... this is a 2 year C-class that belongs to my nephew. The paint is badly neglected. Never been waxed and there are scratches and swirls all over. My nephew told me he uses "shop paper towel" to dry the car !

The surface is rough to the touch and not smooth at all.

Here's one of the before pictures that shows the general condition of the paint.

I clayed, speed glazed, show car glaze on the hood only, and then Nxt'd

and this is the after which I'm quite proud of.

                Now my question is ....

I notice the gloss is so much richer than the brand new SLK350 that I did previously (Nxt only). The SLK350 is shiny but it doesn't have the "oily" deep gloss as inthe C-class. Is it because of the Speed Glaze ?

after reading Mike's reply to my other post on Nxt + SC Glaze + Nxt, I think I'll put sc glaze and nxt on it this weekend. I guess i'll be busy !
