  • Need clearcoat advice

When opening my door I accidently bumped it against my carport pillar (made of tabby: a cement made of lime, sand or gravel, and oyster shells) I can tell it took off some of the clearcoat, because I can feel it with my finger. No paint was removed or anything; so it's not that serious. But it's got a clear edge line on it. I know I'll go nuts if this isn't fixed. Sooo, what's the easiest, most inexpensive BUT DONE RIGHT way to fix this?

Will ScratchX and a whole lotta wax solve this?

You could try touch up paint.

Lots of wax won't really help.
You might have to wetsand and use some touch-up paint to get it smooth. Then scratchX to get rid of sanding marks and finally wax.

You can get the touch up paint from the dealership you got the car from.

Could I get it from ANY dealer that manufactures my kind of car? Is there a charge probably?

Mike Phillips? What do you recommend?

Wetsanding is something I wouldn't mind learning how to do, but on my brand new car, I don't think so!
