  • COLOR X + rotary

    Hi guys,

I found few bottles of colorx lying in my garage, I thought of using them with my rotary buffer + 8000 yellow cutting pad or 9000 pad

Is it okay or it will harm the paint? Any 1 did it before?

If ok, what is best and safest process to do that?

I don't Owen PC or any thing else only rotary just to let u know

    Hi SSPOWER,

ColorX is not formulated to be used with a rotary buffer, I don't know the specific formula reasons but I'll guess it has to do with making it able to perform under pressure when heat is generated as buffing with a rotary buffer requires a certain amount of pressure and together with the high speed rotating action of the motor, heat is generated.

For this reason, we cannot actually make any recommendations as to how to use ColorX with this tool.

ColorX is formulated to be used by hand, dual action polisher and orbital buffer, to be on the safe side, you might simply try applying this product by hand, it's very effective this way and you can't do any harm to your car's finish.

    What are you working on?

No, ScratchX is to be applied by hand.

        Cheers!

Working with the rotary buffer is a pretty big step if you've never used one before. If you want to use the rotary buffer and you don't have any experience, you want to find a junker car to practice on, not something that's important to you. Then you want to look into Meguiar's Professional Line of paint care products. Do you have any stores in your area where you can find our Professional Line?
