Today i busted out the polisher and my DAMF and worked on my hood. I think I have a diamond coating instead of clear coat. I have a couple of scratches on my hood and went to work on them. I made 4 passes with the DAMF and nothing. I broke out a LC yellow pad and UC and did 4 passes with that. It made it a little less noticeable but not much. Should I break down and try the M101 or M100 with the DAMF. Or should I buy M105? I am using a Meguiar's polisher but the v1. Should I also upgrade my polisher too? Thanks ahead of time guys. Also I have tried to get those scratches out before so in total I have probably 15 passes on those scratches. I can not feel them with my fingernail either so I don't think they are deep.

Re: Looking for some cut
I have fallen in love with M100 and M101. When my M105 is gone it will not be on my must have list. Depending on how severe your defects are either one of these on your v1 w/mf pad should correct the problem if used with a little patience. I understand the v1 is a little anemic compared to the v2,griots,Flex or Rupes but with enough passes it will do the job on most surfaces. Re: Looking for some cut
I was using the d300 with the mf cutting disc. I cleaned it after every pass and used enough pressure to keep the pad spinning. I would like to try all of the products but it doesn't make sense to buy all of them for just my car. I just do this as a hobby to make my beater shine and practice so when I get my new car I'll be better at it. I was thinking of trying the m101 with mf. I have a 99 ford explorer. Has anyone had trouble with these before?

Re: Looking for some cut
Even though D300 was designed to be used with the MF cutting pad, many people have experimented with M105, M100, M101 on the MF cutting pad with great results.
Sounds like your scratches are stubborn and/or your paint is hard. I'd go straight to the M101 from here.Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Re: Looking for some cut
Thanks for the input guys. Thanks for the offer s word. If I decide to try it I'll hit you up. Or more likely when I get more time I will hit you up. PWMD what I meant was to say I would love to try all the products but it's just not sensible for me to go out and buy $150 of liquid to just try out. Like I said it's just my car and I only work on it when I have time. Full time work, Nursing school and 2 kids in sports takes up 95% of my time. Thanks for everything guys.

Why do you say you want to use all the products and then you say you don't want to buy everything?
M101 is made for a foam pad on a rotary. Just stick with what works.Live like you're not afraid to die.Don't be scared, just enjoy your ride. Chris Ledoux RIP
