  • Wife just got a new car...

So I went this past weekend to Crevier MINI (not very far from Meguiar's Headquarters, as a matter of fact) and purchased my wife a 2013 Countryman, in the "Light Coffee" color.

I got it home, and went to go over it with my clay and wax (it's got what looks like yellow tree sap all over the front, as well as assorted bug guts from the 100 mi. drive down to San Diego), and discovered that I was all out of NXT Tech wax.

So I went down to the local AutoZone to see what they had, and they no longer carry NXT! The choices there were Gold Class Carnauba, Ultimate Liquid Wax, and then the White/Black Wax stuff.

I'd prefer a liquid wax, since I have a DA polisher and pads to apply it (used to do it by hand, until I took a Meguiar's Saturday class several years ago and learned that the DA polisher was the easiest/fastest way to apply wax).

Anyone have any recommendations for this "creamy coffee" color car?

If you liked the Nxt, the Ult. Wax would be the newer version of it.

Some kind of cleaner/polish or cleaner/wax first could be a good idea though as well.

I've got some #83 at home to use if I need it (which I probably should have mentioned), so I was more looking for wax. If Ultimate is the next version, I'll probably go to that - I've really become a fan of the synthetic waxes out here in So Cal - during the summer months, I'm having to reapply the carnauba what feels like every 2 weeks.

And Strife, it's a VERY nice ride. Wife said on her drive down from the Anaheim area, she hit 90 on 5 south before realizing just how fast she was cruising, because it was so stable. It's definitely got some get up and go, too, when you need it. It's no 500 hp Shelby, but for what it is, it'll scoot pretty good.
