  • Ultimate Compound, Scratch X, Swirl Remover 2.0 (#9)

I have a bottle of #9 Swirl Remover 2.0. How does this compare to Scratch X and Ultimate Compound as far as abrasives and swirl/cobwebbing removal?

I'm doing a very cob-webbed/swirled white paint job on a Dodge Charger this Saturday and since I can't get M105 or M205 locally right now, I'll have to use one of these to do the job. I know to start out with least aggressive first and then step up if the paint is not reacting. This is the first client this year using the new Da polisher and new techniques I've been learning and reading about. I know I can do a great job, just looking for the input between those 3 products from least to most aggressive.

I will be purchasing the M105, M205, M20 and a few other items this weekend online.

If you plan to work with a dual action polisher I would stay with SwirlX/ Ultimate Compound choice. ScratchX/ ScratchX 2.0 are rather for isolated work due to their small tube size.

M-line is targeted more towards rotary buffer/ body shop applications.

If a dual action polisher is your main tool to go with, I would recommend to get DA Microfiber Correction System (5" for traditional D/A, 6" for forced rotation). This 2-step approach really delivers fantastic results.

Forgot to mention I have the Meg's DA G110V2 Polisher. Just bought it this year. That is the machine I'll be using. I also meant to say Swirl X not Scratch X. I just don't want to see the Swirl Remover 2.0 not get used and go to waste. I think it's actually a year old, maybe 2, so not sure how long the product lasts either.

As far as the Pro line -

      M105 would replace Ultimate Compound
      M205 would replace Ultimate Polish
M20 would replace NXT 2.0 (have #26 Hi-tech Yellow Wax also)

All ok to use with the Dual Action Polisher

SwirlX is not as aggressive as Ultimate Compound so if your test spot reveals that SwirlX is not enough then step up to UC (both products use modern non-diminishing abrasives, SMAT).
M09 Swirl Remover would be closed in aggressiveness to M205 Ultra Finishing Polish, but M09 uses old technology of diminishing abrasives. It could last 3-5 years if stored properly (right temperature and humidity).

        That's all okay.
Just remember that M20 Polymer Sealant is a mild cleaner wax (has some super mild abrasives).

DA Microfiber Correction System really rocks with G110v2 and it loves hard paint.
