  • Detailing clothes?

Just curious... what do you guys wear when you detail your cars?
I just wear a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans.

When I was reaching for the middle of the hood and the top of my car, I thought to myself... am I scratching the hell out of my car with the jeans that I am wearing?
Took a look at the vertical panels and saw no scratches... but still made me curious.

I wear Joggers (sweatpants) and a t shirt, a warm old sweater if its cold. Joggers are much less constraining

I wear white apron with a big red waving 'W' (Wisconsin). Not try to showing off the school, I only have that one.

I usually wear some sort of gym pants or gym shorts and a t shirt or long sleeve shirt depending how cold it is. No buttons or zippers and I take off my ring

You guys actually wear clothes to detail?? Guess I'm too much of a purist..

Lol jokes aside, I just make sure to be mindful of belt buckles, rivets in jeans, or bling like metal watches. Don't want any of these scratching your car.

A sweatshirt inside out works well when 'leaning' into the job. Those rivits on/in Levi's are deadly!

I think the neurons in my brain stopped firing at the thought of that image.

I wear a very soft shop apron, a pair of soft cotton gloves, and a $3 plexiglass face shild from HF.

I don't know if Meguiars still offers it, but I also use a soft cord wrap for th 7424 called a monkey tail.

Is that like looking at the sun for way too long?

That is a funny statement he made.

                              No, no, Bill.

Looking at the sun too long causes "searing an image onto the brain".

My brain is slightly, well perhaps majorly different, my neurons stop firing to prevent "image searing".
Also helpful when my wife says, "did you do....", I say "no I don't remember you telling me that".

                              Germane to topic:
If I'm washing the vehicle, sweat pants and tee shirt
After that, street clothes, jeans and tee shirt (often long sleeved)
If I'm going to be in contact with vehicle I have a microfiber apron
Applying and removing wax I wear microfiber gloves
