Back in the plastic box? Are you using an Absorber towel that recommends doing this? Generally speaking, a good, high quality microfiber waffle weave drying towel should be washed and dried (along with your wash mitt) after each use.

its one of these, I was going to get the water magnet but I had already got this one. The box is handy for keeping it clear of dust and muck in the garage, and it can hang from a peg too.
I havent got round to washing it all yet.
there's the mitt, drying towel, and 3 shine towels, and 2 MF applicator/cleaning pads.. are they ok to go in the same wash?
yeah, I washed the applicators in the sink last night and they are clean. I used one on the interior with the interior cleaning stuff. that is very good stuff.. the plastic/vinyl looks brand new.
I would wash, hang dry that mf towel and store in a plastic tote.
Btw...I would never dry my car like in that video, I would pat dry, ring out, rinse MF, repeat....I usually use 2 drying towels though...
Towel #1 will be used to get 90-95% of the water...the 2nd to get the remaining 5-10%
I use near retired MF towels to get at the door jambs/ trunk/ hood jambs
