You've got too much going on there.

    Your wash step is good.

    Your clay step is good.

Either use Meguiars Ult Polish or the Polish Compound. I would use Ult Polish.

Since you are polishing, you don't really want to use a cleaner wax. If anything, use cleaner wax before polish.

Lastly use a wax of your choice.

    So,
    Wash
    Clay
    Cleaner wax
    Ultimate polish
    Nxt2.0 (1 or 2 coats, your choice)

If this cars paint is in good condition, I would just polish and not use cleaner wax step. Waste of time.

No need to use the cleaner/wax before Ult. Polish.

Whether or not this process is really appropriate depends on the condition of the paint and your expectations. As others have mentioned, there is no need to add the cleaner wax into this mix, especially between coats of NXT or after a polish as the cleaners in it would remove those previously applied products.

If you have noticeable swirls that you want to remove, your process would look something like this:

            1. Wash
            2. Clay
            3. Ultimate Compound
            4. Ultimate Polish
            5. Wax

If you don't have swirls, or they are very light, then you could do the above minus the Ultimate Compound step.

Working by hand, you would be ok with Ult. Polish for your mild cleaner, and Ult. Compound for your stronger cleaner. UP should remove anything that UC left behind.

Use smooth foam applicators for applying the products, not terry cloth.
