  • 2013 Honda Accord Wash/Wax help

I just bought a new honda accord 2013. Royal Blue Pearl color. Looks amazing when i picked up from dealer

But after these last 2weeks of rain and snow I guess its time for wash and wax and possibly seal

so can someone help a 1,2,3,4 steps of products to use to clean car and wax and seal it in simplest form

1.Wash with Gold class wash ....then
    2.
    3.
    4.

or whatever is next. Thanks guys

If it's new, it probably doesn't need clayed but cars are transported on trains so...

    1: wash
    2: clay
3: wax let the wax set until it cones off clean at a finger stroke

Re: 2013 Honda Accord Wash/Wax help

      to MOL!

It really depends on your paint's current condition and what your ultimate goals are. Does your car have swirls? Does it feel rough? Do you want a swirl free finish or just an improvement to your paint's current condition?

Maybe when you answer these questions then we can give you answers on the proper steps to take. There's really no 1 set prescription that's applicable for all cars. Also, even if your car is new doesn't mean you have like new paint.

      Hope that helps.

Re: 2013 Honda Accord Wash/Wax help

In general, for a quick detail I always like:

        1. Wash
        2. Clay
        3. cleaner/wax - Colorx, or White Wax
        4. Wax - a regular wax like Nxt 2.0, Ult, Wax, etc.

        5. Maintain - Ult. Quick wax after future washes

But looking more in depth like Marc says can help you going forward, to see what needs worked on what what level of effort you are looking for.

Follow the advice of murr. Its good advice.

To save money cut the claybar in half. Ex Meguiars clay bar kit.

To save time you can clay the car while wet using the claybar. Be sure to rinse each panel when done with a firehose. I recommend the autozone firehose. Or check out home improvement store

Also pick up a gallon of "Last Touch" concentrate $19.99. This will be your clay lube. Way cheaper then paying $6.97 a bottle.

Forgot to mention wash car with 2 bucket method using grit guards in both buckets.

Absolutley, good quality towels, sponges, two buckets, Grit Guards if possible.... Doing all the right things from the start will mean there is less to have to fix back up in the future.

Re: 2013 Honda Accord Wash/Wax help

I find doing a good detail from the beginning and regular maintenance really makes it easier to keep the "new" car appearance. My 2003 Mazda MPV always looks "new"
