Around 2 weeks ago, I decided to have my car repainted (base coat, clear coat) here in our shop. So, my painter properly prepped it and gave it a good washover.
So after sanding and buffing, upon later inspection, I found out that there are long scratches on the hood. And it seems to be on the CC. I suspect that this was caused by improper wet sanding techniques since the sanding was later done by his assistants (this I found out later upon inquiry). It seems a speck or dirt / pebbles got stuck with the sandpaper and marred the finish.
So anyway, I’ve decided to repair the defects myself. So I got some rubbing compound together with a Megs cutting pad and proceeded to buff with a Rotary. Later on, I switched to DACP with a Megs Yellow Pad. But to my dismay, the scratches are still on the hood!
So what do you guys suggest? I’m becoming worried that I'm removing too much CC already.. and this is getting frustrating.
