  • Exhaust tip a goner?

Here is a quick shot of my personal day to day ride. Disregard the dirtiness, it's bugging me too, but it's been a wet couple of weeks for us in the south.

This exhaust tip has become more and more of an eye sore to me. It is hard to capture in a picture but around the inside edge is pitting that I guess the carbon ate up over time. The outside looks fantastic, but that inside lip is a bother to someone like me. I have tried everything in my arsenal, it has gotten better and got brighter, but did not get rid of the damage done by the pitting. I tried the new med cut polish and it also did not work. I have tried all over the counter products I could find as well. Any ideas?

I would clean it with acid. Wheel brightener is my choice.
Then steel wool and a metal polish, NXT metal polish is what I use.

I haven't tried wheel brightener, but have tried metal polish and 0000 steel wool.

If it's pitted, that means the chrome plating is gone, so you wont be able to fix it 100%

Those exhaust tips aren't too expensive to replace. Just sayin...

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
