  • Storing Products

    Hi folks,

I've been living in FL (Miami and Orlando) for 24 years now. Here you can wash and wax pretty much year round and storage of my precious Meguiar's has not been a problem.

We are about to move to Athens, GA to a place where indoor storage won't be possible. My stuff will likely have to stored in an outdoor (not insulated) shed. Is this going to ruin my waxes and stuff in the extreme cold and heat?

I think it too warm/hot for storage your stuff outside in a shed in the summer months
I think it will definately shorten the shelf life for sure.
I would look for a spot in the house, a closet?

Not really a matter of shortening the life... if they freeze or get too hot, they can go bad right away.

Going to want to check a thermometer in there before you store things.

Congrats on moving to Athens! UGA grad here. The climate in Athens is definitely not "extreme". There might be a few days below freezing per year and it probably gets much hotter in Florida. I think storing your waxes and polishes in an outdoor shed will be just fine.

UGA grad here too! What I meant by extreme was that in FL I've stored my stuff indoors in a controlled climate. Pretty much 76 year round. In the outdoor shed in Athens it will likely be anywhere from 100 down to the 20's depending on time of year. I've just discovered that the owner of the house we're moving into has a basement. The kind with pebbles for the floor and nothing down there but spider webs and a really scary-looking old furnace. The basement is only accessible from his part of the house, but he's letting me store my car stuff in there as long as I wash his car for him every now and then! While the basement doesn't get the heat and air that the rest of the house gets, it won't be as bad as the outdoor shed. YAY!
