  • Question about regular Meguiar's quick wax

Hey everyone, I had a question about the regular Meguiar's quick wax. The one that comes in the maroon spray bottle it's not the ultimate quick wax or the gold class quick waxes, those two work flawlessly.

But not too long ago I picked some up at a local department store since it was on sale, that and I haven't tried MEGS regular quick wax yet until now.

Sadly, I will have to admit, it was the worst performing MEGS product I've used so far. But then again, I don't know if I was applying it correctly. The problem I encountered was that after I sprayed it on and wiped it off and thought I gotten all the wax removed, about a hour or so later I came back and saw a white streaking haze all over my car's finish.

It finally came off after some more aggressive wiping. But the stuff is almost like MEGS liquid wax but in spray form at least in how it behaves. So in order to use it properly should I use less? Because I applied about as much as most people would a instant detail spray or spray wax.

And does this stuff apply and wipe off better in warmer weather? Because after all I did use it during the winter and it's still very cold in my area. But other than that the stuff does smell great and once I got all of it off my car's shine was back to it's brilliant self so I mostly just want to know if that product is harder or different to remove than most other MEGS products.

But anyways, thank you all for your time.

What exact words does the bottle say on the front??

The reason why i am asking this is, because some of there quick waxes you have to apply and then let the wax dry to a haze before wiping off............

I've never had any of those issues with the regular Quik Wax.

I like the product but I do find it not as easy to use as UQW, and also it stains black trim.

Did you shake the bottle first? Because from memory, the product settles when left unshaken for a long time - i.e. you get a clear(ish) liquid on top and a thick white liquid on the bottom.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I believe the 2013 Quik Wax has been improved as far as removing, but have not tried it. The older stuff I did not like at all. And the Nxt wasnt a joy to use either.

Ult. Quick Wax or Gold Class Spray wax only....

Yes as far as I know I did. Next time I use it I'll do so even more and I'll try to use much less and see what that does.

Yeah after I carefully read everything on the back I saw where it says that it basically IS a liquid wax in spray form. Because this version says to let the wax dry to a haze before wiping off. So no wonder why I thought the stuff acted much differently than the liquid spray waxes that I've been using.

Just to add, the QW is a product to let dry.

So apply real thin, around the whole car, grab a drink, then come back and remove. If applied thin enough, should be dry by then.

Cool, thanks for the tip. That's what I will do next time.
