  • Just picked up some NXT Paste wax... questions..

Well I just pickes up some NXT paste wax as reccomended for the most durable wax.

I'm planning on using it on my g/f 2001 black ford escape first, her paint is practically perfect, no swirls or scratches so what should I do to prep the paint or should I?

I have available a clay bar, scratch X, and deep crystal #1 and #2 so do you all reccomend any of these to be used or just use teh wax?

Also I've seen posts on here about letting the wax "cure" but I don't see a time limit on the instructions, so exactly how should I do this? Do you put it on and just wait and hour then wipe it all off or what?

    Thanks!

I was told to clay it first, might not be necessary though. Then apply a thin coat of NXT(shake the bottle well first) wait an hour and wipe it of. Then after that, wait 12h and apply a second coat.
12h is the cure time and some say it looks better after that. I have a silver car so i don't know.

Well, the Nxt paste wax cant be shaken up.. but that was just a typo, I know.

Even with the paint in good condition, you still will want to prep the surface to get the best adherance for the wax. Definately clay the surface. If you dont need any abrasives to remove swirls, then just use the DC#1. With the truck being black the polish, DC#2 will help the car shine even more. Then 1 coat of wax, or two depending on what you want. You dont really need to wait 12 hours, if you want to do 2 coats in less time.

      So:
      Wash
      Clay
      Clean
      Polish
      Wax

Also, remember the better quality equipment you use, the better the results. Dont want to use poor equipment, and instill marks that werent there at the start.

      Have fun....
