Using it by hand, foam applicators work best, work in small areas (2ftx2ft sections) for more effective imperfection removal, apply in circular motions for better product distribution rub it until it goes clear, remove while wet repeat application if needed.

        Re: Ultimate compound!

First off, a big to MOL!!!

I'm assuming that you'll be using a rotary? If so, Ultimate Compound isn't really designed for rotary application. It's best if you use a dual action polisher for UC. If you insist on using a rotary buffer, I would highly suggest looking at M105 Ultra-Cut Compound. UC was derived from M105. M105 cuts stronger than UC.

The main difference between UC (or M105) and the M85 you were used to are the abrasives. The former uses SMAT (super micro abrasive technology) while the latter uses DAT (diminishing abrasive technology). UC/M105 will just work right away and you don't need to break down the abrasives in order for it to finish well. There are times where these products will finish LSP (last step product / wax) ready depending on the hardness of the paint you're working on. M85 requires you to polish the section in multiple passes (until it becomes more translucent) in order for the polish to break down and finish well.

To use both UC and M105 properly, prime the pad (cover the entire surface) before using it. Remove the excess. Only use 3 pea sized dots in every 2'x2' section you're working on.

Here's a recent post our MOL administrator, Micheal Stoops, wrote about how to use M105:

        Hope this helps.

              Re: Ultimate compound!

              Here are my suggestions:

Work on a small area at a time. Preferably an 18"x18" to a 2'x2' area at a time. Apply 3-4 pea sized product to your foam pad on every section. Make sure to work clean - meaning clean your foam pad on the fly often by rubbing it against a cotton terry cloth towel. Buff off this product while it's wet - you don't want to let it dry. Apply moderate to heavy downward pressure on the polisher depending on how the paint's responding or how severe the defects are. Make sure to keep the pad flat against the surface. I would highly suggest using the W8207 Softbuff 2.0 polishing pad (or similar) with your G110v2 DA polisher. Make sure you use the appropriate backing plate for the foam pad you're using (W68DA in this case).

When you say orange pad, I'm assuming you're talking about the LC orange. But when you say yellow pad, are you talking about the LC one or the Meg's one?

Here's a thread I would highly suggest you read so that you'd know how to properly use UC with your DA:

Can you post some pictures of it? It's kind of hard to say. But I think you should be find with the orange ones.
