We'll keep ours crossed for you as well (typing may be difficult for a while, but that's ok). It's rare to see paint that looks like this actually come back and stay back, but it's not totally unheard of. What wax did you apply after using the UC?

I've applied NXT 2.0 ! I also have carnauba gold wax but I didnt use it, is it better for this situation?

It still rocking the new shine! I will post some pics later....

I plan on buying some new Clay Bars to do the classical wash-clay-polish-wax cycle

The Gold Class might have had some more oils in it... which wouldnt be bad. But the Nxt would be more durable... also not bad...

            Hey guys,

Today after work I washed (obviously with the 2 bucket method, using Gold Class Shampoo) dried with the water magnet towel and started the claying (luckly I found 2 used clay bars that are still in good condition)

I was able to do the roof and hood before the sun went completely down , so I didnt take the pics from that spot, will do tomorrow....

This weekend I plan on washing it again and claying the trunk/side panels, so I can start applying UC to the entire vehicle on the next week

BTW I will repaint both bumpers, their paint is destroyed beyong any repair

Wanna make this 2001 Focus spanking new again!

            Thanks

Hey guys, here are the pics:

As you guys may notice, its shiny, but not as reflective as it can be, I supose its because I only used UC and didnt apply any polishing oils right? Which one should I use?

                Bonus:

                Thanks!

Looking good! So is that UC on the whole car now? Any wax on top?

To take the shine & clarity to the next level, you could now apply UP or M205, followed by wax.

Re: Is this really clear coat failure or it can be fixed?

Not really, the entire car was waxed 6 months ago with NXT 2.0 and never washed again until the present day, the only thing you see on it is the NXT 2.0 which is 6 months old

                    What I did was:

First I washed only that panel which had the dull spot, applied UC and then NXT 2.0, but only to that spot

After 2 days, washed the entire car and clayed the roof and hood, at this moment I took the pictures above

So I still need to: finish claying the car, apply UC to the entire car, polish the entire car and wax it again

Guess theres a lot of work waiting for me!

i dont think you are any where near a clear coat failure
and i think that part was repainted because u can clearly see the orange peel

if there is a paint shop u always deal with go to him and let him check your paint with a paint gauge to insure that u are in the safe side

We have to admit it's rare that we see a clear coat go from that bad to this good and stay that way for any length of time, so it looks like you may have dodged a bullet here. No doubt the paint looks 1000% better now. Nice work!!

I have very bad news......after 2 weeks the dull spot is coming back

I suppose there is no hope anymore?
