  • How to fix burnt paint

I was trying to remove a scratch but buffed too much and now my paint is burnt. Am I able to fix this? or will I have to repaint my whole door?

As far as I know there is no fix for burnt paint except a repaint.

Maybe. But try sanding it first to see if you damaged it compleatly through. You might be able to save it but most likely you have to re paint it. Good luck

If you sand it you will go through the primer and land on bare metal. Looks like the edges are burned through. Make sure the edges are feathered, use paint prep to remove oils and layer some paint. The edges shoud be featherd from the buffer. After paint dries lightly sand the with sandpaper 3000 grit then apply some clear coat, sand again if necessary and buff lightly. It should blend nicely and may not even be noticable. I've made these repairs before with an airbrush it comes in handy but isnt required.
