  • Ultimate Wash and Wax Anywhere on salty vehicle?

Is using Ultimate Wash and Wax Anywhere on a salty vehicle a bad idea? Will my finish be marred?? I'm in Ohio and can't stand the salt on my vehicles.

I'd say that would be a bit much for a waterless wash, but that's just my opinion. If you could pressure wash it first maybe?

Yeah... It is what it is for.... but anything you can do to help. Pressure wash, or coin-op place, or at least rinsing, changing towels more often, etc.

I personally would use ONR or Meguiars RFEW in the winter months.
My city uses salt, salt brines, salt & sand mixtures...etc.
Using UWWA is just not economical as my car would get dirty within minutes of driving.

I use UWWA also on my car when it is salty (I use more product in these cases) - but only as an interim solution. To avoid any rust you'll have to use water to reach all the chinks where the salt uses to sit ...

So I went ahead and used it today, and I gotta say it worked well. I was a bit nervous at first, but this stuff is awesome. I used LARGE microfiber drying towels. I did not have to use an excessive amount of product to get good results. I would rather have scratched it wiping it off being salty than have some careless person rub up against it and having it scratched that way.

I use 1prt. vinegar with 7prt. water to take off the heavy and let it sit on there for about 30 secs. before wiping it off. Then follow-up with UWWA.

I find that it works well no matter what lands on the paint. They key for any waterless wash is to first evaluate the condition of the surface and when was the last time it was cleaned and how much protection is underneath the contaminated surface.

In two days I drove close to 250 miles and the second day was through a minor snow blizzard that didnt last very long. While there was salt on the roads, I did do a waterless wash do clean the surface. I didnt find any problems with doing my wash however I did go a bit heavier on application than I normally would. I find that this product works even better in the Kwazar Mercury pro spray bottle. This bottle allows for a much better spray pattern and better atomization than the bottle UWWA comes in.

Yeah... not sure about the vinegar. Not sure if it would hurt the wax, which kind of hurts the process.
