  • windshield haze, help

I used to use Rain X but it made a rock chip even worse. Once in a while I will use Meguiars Ultimate Quix Wax, but it's not too effective. I'm looking for something that will not harm the windshield, but will provide me a better way to look out of my windshield when it's raining or snowing.

I frequently change my wiper blades (Always buy Anco 31), and I keep my '05 Highlander very clean. When it rains the driver's and passenger's side look hazy on the outside almost to a point where its hard to see out. The weird part is its crystal clear in the middle.

    Any help is appreciated.

I use Xpress wax on all my customers cars and they love it.personaly I use Rani X on my own vehicals with no problems. You can always polish the glass with Cerium Oxide.do a search and you find how to do it.

I use a product called aquapel. It's been referred to as rain x on steroids. I put it on last may and it is still going strong! It's a little different than rain x to apply, you DON'T want to let it dry to a haze before wiping it off so you want to be prepared for it. As for the hazing, I recently picked up a product by glass science called glass scrub off of auto geek. I haven't gotten a chance to use it yet but it is supposed to really scrub and deep clean the exterior glass. I was going to use it when I finally need to re-apply some aquapel to give it a super clean surface to bond to. Not sure how any of it will affect your rock chip though...

        glass science glass scrub
I've used this and it's good cleaner, not realy a glass polish though as in removing defects.
But it might be what you need
If you need somthing stronger, Cerium Oxide is the next step.

I didn't mean to imply that it might help in removing the rock chip, but it sounded like for some reason, maybe even just coincidence that rain x made their chip worse. I meant that the glass scrub probably won't make it worse like the rain x seemed to, and it might help with the hazing issue, that's all. Thanks for the positive feedback on the glass scrub though, it's good to know I didn't waste my money!!
