  • Spot created by PerfectClarity Glass Cleaner

Hello everyone! iam from Hong Kong and very enjoy take care my car my myself. meguiars is one of the most popular car care products in Hong Kong. I usually just wash my car with Ultimate Wash n Wax and UQW once a week, and i am happy with the result. However, i bought PerfectClarity Glass Cleaner and sprayed it on my my windshield last week. Somehow the result is very disappointed, its created a lot of spot on the windshield. Its only can be notice when i drive my car at night. Can anyone can share some idea how to remove those spots?? Actually those spots look like created by hair spray....

If you rub your finger or cloth on them, do they streak, smeer, go away, etc?

Sounds like it could just be some overspray you missed.... One thing a lot of people do is use too much.

Thanks for your reply. No, they don't streak, smear or go a away. Do you think I can give (vinegar+water) a try? I am scare I will make it even worse. Thanks

Well, the thing to do is try any follow up in a small corner, where you have a spot, but not in the middle of the wind shield.

If it is just glass cleaner, a little more should to it. You can spray onto your cloth, rather than spraying over the glass.

Same if you try some vinegar, get the cloth wet, then apply, rather than spraying.

I usually spray my microfiber cloth instead of the windows.....then a separate dry microfiber to buff crystal clear.
I also have microfibers set aside for glass only/ wash separately as well.
I use Meguiars Detailer Glass cleaner concentrate (D120), my glass is invisible

doubt I can find the D120 in hk. Learn from the past, I will definitely spray on the microfiber cloth instead of the windows...

Re: Spot created by PerfectClarity Glass Cleaner

                  Thegom,

Glass gives me fits sometimes, but I live in a town with an industry known for polluting the air and the pollution settles everywhere and throw in tree sap, pollen and also the poop from aphids, my glass is often a mess. Also You may have found water spots after cleaning your glass with Meguiar's that were previously hidden to you.

Once in a while, I wash the glass, then clean with vinegar, then clean with Meguiar's glass cleaner. Perfect Clarity will do a good job, equal to or better than D120.

Twice a year, I take my electric buffer, a 4" firm pad and Ultimate Compound to the glass and follow that with a product called Eraser by CarPro. Eraser is like alcohol and it removes the film that Ultimate Compound may leave. Be sure to check your owner's manual. Some glass is treated and abrasive products will remove that protective coating.

As Murr has said on occasion, "less is more" for glass cleaner. Spray your microfiber, not the glass.

Good luck and let us know how it goes
