  • Stubborn Stains on clear coat need help

Hey, I have a Tri-coated White Pearl paint job on a 2001 infiniti i30. My Problem is Im trying to remove subborn dirt/grime stains on my passanger door frame. The dirt has the consistency of hard dried jelly/gummy. and when I finally remove a piece of the dirt it leaves a yellowish tint on my paint that is stubborn and wont clean.

I will attach pictures to help: My clean process includes:

    1. Wash clean Megiuars gold
    2. Bug/Tar remover
    3. scrub spots, let tar remover sit
    4. Wash
    5. Dry
    6. Clay bar
    7. Megiuar rubbing compound

Note: I have Megiuar rubbing compound and Ultimate Compound

This process removed about 40% of the grime but it still left a yellowish stain that rubbing compound rarely could remove! ( I probally could scrap it off with a butter knife but I dont want to damage my paint, I was thinking maybe goo gone, minerial spirits, or something you guys suggest.

    Thank you for your time

Have you tried a strong IPA mix? Or a chemical paint cleaner? 3M adhesive remover and wd40 work well too.

      Your post is confusing me.
Scrap what off with a butter knife?
The way you wrote it, it sounds like your refering to the Ultimate Compound.
Any "staining" in the paint can be removed with some compound and some elboe grease. Or sanding, but comp. UC should work fine.
