            Mineral spirits or rubbing alcohol. Let the product do the work. Sometimes it helps to use a bit of clay first to knock the hard surface of the sap off. Sometimes just a good carwash solution in hot water works too. Other times it seems like you need a hammer and chisel...but don't do it.

              If you have a fresh blob of sap I would start with something throw away, newspaper, anything and pinch off the top goop with my thumb and finger on the other side of the newspaper using a fresh spot for each glob. Old credit card edge might work too, then wash and deal with the remains. Some kind of high slipperiness wax type protection might be good too, maybe Rejex.
