  • Grease On Top Of Car

I have an electric garage door opener and the worm drive is directly over the center of my car. Yesterday it decided to put a line of some kind of clear oil/grease in a line down the center of the top and back window. I used a microfiber to gently wipe it off but of course there is a film still left on the paint and window. What would be good to remove it and I suspect whatever it is will also remove the wax. Will Ultimate Quick Detailer work? I don't think it will come off with just a wash job but it is now 45

Yeah, I would have probably wanted to try to use QD or UQD while I was removing it at first. Still would be good to try first.

If it comes off easily, can avoid stripping wax with something stronger perhaps.

Thanks Murr. Looks like UQD did the job but it's kind of hard to tell until I can get the car in bright sun. Appears to have gotten it off the glass too. Hopefully I'll be able to wash the car sometime today.

A wash may get it off if not a lot is not left on the surface. I say try washing the car if you have the time. I have washed my car via two bucked on a windy hilltop at 30 degrees Fahrenheit and it's not so bad once your arms go numb.

I've washed mine after shoveling snow from the driveway but the old bones don't tolerate or recover from the numbness like they used to.
