  • Will QID remove UP?

    Hey guys,

Newbie here. I was planning to use both Quik Interior Detailer and UP for the interior. QID for cleaning followed by UP for protection. I was initially planning to do this every 2 weeks. But, I've read that UP will last quite a while inside the car. So subsequently, I would most probably just use QID for cleaning. The question is, for subsequent cleaning with QID, will I be removing the UP that was applied 2 weeks earlier? If yes, what would be the recommended approach to interior cleaning? All help is most appreciated.

QID has light cleaning ability and probably not remove UP after 2 weeks but repeated application of QID will probably diminish UP over time and repeated use. Another option, after applying QID and UP, is plain water with a MF towel. Just dampen the towel and wipe.

If you wanted a stronger cleaner, you would probably want the APC or APC+.

You tend to want to think of the QID more as a duster. So you would just mist a little onto your towel, and then wipe around lightly to pick up any dust.

If your surface stays pretty clean, you could just dust and then apply more UP if wanted. Otherwise, you would do more of a wipedown with the APC/+, then apply the UP.

        Hi guys,

thanks for the replies. well, the reason i asked this was to see if i can save up on the UP re-application. If QID is able to remove the UP, then I would not use it so frequently. from your replies, it seems the QID is quite a light cleaner so I would not need to re-apply UP every 2 weeks

Yeah, and the lighter you apply the QID the milder. Just a mist on a towel will just grab dust.

If you actually soaked a spot, then more likely to remove some dressing.
