  • Mike, I am confused with ScratchX instruction: . . let . . dry before removing excess

    On the label of ScratchX:
    . . . let the product dry before removing excess . . .

    Mike’s post:
Neither the paint cleaner, (ScratchX), or the polish, (Deep Crystal Polish), need to dry before removing. Basically, apply them, work them in and then remove them.
Hi all. Merry Xmas to start off!! I have posted on the UK Meg site but u peeps will know more.. I own a Focus ST170 in Imperial Blue. Its 9 months old and has some scratches. I brought some Scratch X and not sure how to use it right. The car has been washed and dry and ready for the scratch X. I don't

Technically, a paint cleaner does not need to dry before removing because the action of the this product drying adds no benefit to the surface. Same goes for Compounds, Cleaner/Polishes and Pure Polishes. The only products in Meguiar's line that need to dry on paint before removal are waxes.

      Scratch X

Great question about Scratch X drying. When the product was first developed it was found to work well after it dried. Now that it has been out for use to the generall public we have found that wipping before it dries works better. Our marketing department is working this label change into the product at the momment. I am not sure how soon until consumers will see this change at the store level.

      I hope this helps you,

      Thanks for the question.
