  • can't get wheels clean

I am having problems getting the wheels of my wifes 2002 Eclipse clean. She has the 10 spoke wheel that seems to be panted with a clear coat finish. All around the wheel there are little black dots all over the wheel(mainly in the front). I am thinking that this is brake dust. If you run your finger over the top of the marks the wheel is smooth to the touch. This makes me feels that this stuff has worked its way in to the finish. I have tried all kinds if wheel clearners and brushes to get this stuff off. Everything seems to work to a point. The lastest try was simple green and a and a wheels brush. I have even tryed a toothbrush before. I can not get all of it to go away. Does any one have any suggestions on products or technics I can try to get this off.

    Hello flipper!! Welcome to MOL!

Do you have any photographs of your 'black dots'? Also, are these the stock wheels on the vehicle? Have you tried clay?

Here is a picture of the wheel that is on the car. I don't have a picture of the wheel right now I will have to take a picture and upload it. I didn't even think of using clay. Thanks for the suggestion

I have the same problem with my tire's. I have American Racing Estrella rim's. The brake dust form the car is heated to the rim's and to get them out I tried everything. Until I tried Simple Green and a Q-Tip. The funny thing is it worked. It took alittle patience but I got most of it out.
