  • Compound 105 Gumming-up during DA application with yellow 2.0 pad

Using my DA, on a clean, cool surface, I noticed that the applied 105 was gumming-up (drying very "thickly" leaving behind caked-on product) as I was apply using the DA. I used 105 last week and had no problems. I did get it off finally using a lot of elbow-grease and a micro fiber towel. I applied it using a DA (on 4 to 5) and a yellow 2.0 foam pad. I did not allow the product to dry...... it was drying as I was applying it. As I applied to the rest of the car, I used less product and the gumming-up abated. I then applied Final Inspection to remove any residual 105 I may have missed, followed by 205 (205 went on and off with no problem), then wax. Any ideas as to why I experienced gumming-up this time around? Maybe I used too much or I should have primed the pad with FI 34. Don't know? Thank you!
