  • heavy heavy swirls... question

hey, i recently just buffed the hood of my car to check the results i would recieve, there are still very noticable swirls, but they are better.

    the process i used was:
    meguiars clay
diamond cut w/ rotary around 1200
swirl free polish on a rotary around 1000
and a layer of nxt wax

i was thinking that maybe the swirl remover is maybe too light and was thinking about maybe switching and trying to use DACP with 8006 pad on a PC.

does this sound like my best course of action or is there any other polishes/technique i can try to get heavy swirling? thanks in advance

#85 is the most aggressive product in the bodyshop line. If that didn't work, chances are #83 isn't going to. You may want to try slowing your arm movements and bumping up the speed on the rotary to 1300. You should try #83 with the W-8000 or W-8006 and remember to keep your arm moving slow and steady and check your work as you go. If you move too fast and don't allow the product to breakdown completely, then your results will be less than optimal. Hope this helps.

maybe the swirls u are seeing are just shallow ones from #85 and u just need something more aggressive than swirl free polish to remove them like 80 or 83....

ok, so im gonna give it another shot and try upping the speed and slowing down.

now after im done using diamond cut with the rotary, the w-8000 should be used on a rotary correct? After i use the DACP should i go right to wax after that, or hit it with another polish?

I would try starting with #83 first at about 1300 rpm and using the W-8006 pad which you already have. Remember to work the polish until it has completely broken down, but don't dry buff. If two passes with #83 do not work, then you may have to use #85 (though you probably don't need to). After #83 you should use #80, or the #82 that you have. Good luck.
