What should I use to get rid of these scratches/stains?

What would anyone recommend that I use to rid my car of these scratches/ spots? I was thinking maybe Ultimate Compound for the "stains" and maybe scratch X for the long scratch?
Any hints and/or tips please? Anything would be greatly appreciated
If you need more pics please ask, I want to get this car's paint back to the way it was when it came out of the factory.

I would use Ultimate Compound for both.
UC is stronger and if UC cannot get rid of it, Scratches would not work as well.

Thanks. I already have a coat of wax on (this was before I actually noticed them) would that barrier keep the compound from doing its job? Also, should I compound the whole car or just the spots that need it?

Karl,

Thoryamaha, suggested a good process, but if you only do certain areas of the car you may find yourself saying, "Wow, that looks good, I wish I'd done the whole car.". Keep in mind, the products recommended prefer to be used in warm temperatures. Have the sun warm the car's surface or work in a garage that's above 50 degrees. You may also find removing some of those defects very time consuming working by hand.

Well the results are that the UC got rid of most of the scratches and stains when I applied it and I was very impressed, but now it seems that the scratches and stains came back? I compared them to the pictures I took before and they look very similar. Maybe I was supposed to apply a polish afterwords?

If your finger nail is able to catch the defects in the paint, then they are too deep to be removed by hand. To remove a scratch, you are actually leveling the clear coat around it. This will remove or blend it in. I pretty confident the scratches in last 2 photos require a machine polish.

This is one of the frustrating things about paint correction. Usually when you polish you have to keep polishing until the surface is perfectly flat. Hope that clears up what I meant.

Ohhh ok, so next time I'll just repeat the apply and buff out process a few more times and see what happens

Does the compound take some of the polish off in order to level out the surface?
If the answer is yes then would i have to worry about removing all of the polish off the car?

When you are done polishing, the area should be wiped clean with a microfiber. If there is a possibility some polish is left over, you can wipe the area down with 50/50 (rubbing alcohol/water) mix. With the surface truly clean, the compound can do it's job effectively and level the clear.

You can wipe your car down with the 50/50 mix to remove all leftover polish/compound, giving a prepped surface for wax.

Ultimate polish before Ultimate Wax, if you are doing this by hand, your results will be significant better if you use a DA.
