Help with polisher

Well the inevitable has happened I have started detailing for money. I have a harbor freight rotary but it is just unreliable & does what it wants so it is killing me working by hand so I have been mulling over & reading hundreds of reviews & got It narrowed down between the megs da or the griots garage da please help & all & any feedback is appreciated thanks in advance

I have both the Megs DA & the GG DA, both near new, both work great.
To me they appear to be very similar, tho the Megs has the nice soft start feature....you can pretty much flip a coin on either machines.
Megs back their stuff 100%, GG has lifetime warranty....so you're cover with either machines....but since you are on a Megs forum....I get a feeling many would say get the Megs....I like both my DA's

I have the Meg's Da it's got great power,The cruse control is a nice feature.

I've got the GG6 and I'm happy with it. You won't regret getting either or.

Recently invested in the Meguiars DA i, like you, did it by hand. it was a tough decision but glad i invested. my job is so much easier and now more than ever, i love what I do for a living

I also have the Meg's and am more than happy with it. A good DA might be a bit pricey, but it is money well spent, especially if you are going to be detailing for money you will make it back in no time!

I too have the Meguiars DA and I love it. I have used a PC a few times and like that as well. You can find good deals on a polisher and pad combos online that will save you some cash and you will have everything you need to start.

Thanks for all the input. I probably will go with the megs it was my go to choice but just saw & heard good things about the gg da too & thanks for the heads up on the package deals including pads and polishes I saw some on amazon etc. The only other question is they say the gg da has a wider orbit does anyone know if that adds any significant advantages or not

The size of the orbit can make a difference. The larger the orbit the more aggressive the machine can be. Factors like operator pressure, compound, and pad selection are more important to me and I wouldn't worry about the orbit too much. Kevin Brown wrote an article explaining it and it makes for some interesting reading. I hope this link works, if not go to buffdaddy.com, you can find his article there. Both of those polishers are top notch. You should be happy with either one.
