  • Paint Problems

Hi, I had some serious scratches and chips and marks where i removed the decal strip, on the side of the van and decided to spray it with cans, (possibly not a great idea as have never tried it before but hey ho, you can only learn by trying, anyway I had rubbed down and then sprayed undercoat, then the paint then the clearcoat, everything was looking good until I decided to polish the new paint and then found it not blending in to the old paint.

Now I have tried 4000 grit paper as dont want to be too hard, also UC, and the pics below show where I am.
My questions are, should I now start spraying the full side? or do you reckon I could do something else, any help/suggestions are recieved with many thanks. dont laugh to much at the pics though.

first time posting pics so hope they work.

    cheers

    Re: Paint Problems

    Yes, a bit nasty.

Is that bue-ish undercoat the original car undercoat or the undercoat which you applied?

If it were me, I would start over and re-paint the whole side, or at least from the body-crease up.

Perhaps somebody else can chime in with some other advice.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Yeah its the undercoat i put on, not the original.

I do think its gonna be back to square 1, start again like you say.
      Thanks for your help.
