  • 2013 ALtima, Slate Metallic Grey, help!

Picked up my new Altima on Tuesday I didn't get the "protectent package" through my dealer, as it was expensive and i'm reading that it's basically sh!t. I'm looking for some pointers on how to protect my paint. I drive 5 days a week on the highway. I have been using the Ultimate Liquid wax, and have had great results. But my concern is the highway wear an tear, as well as the upcoming NE winter.

I enjoy putting the work in, so any pointers to protect a new car i'm all ear! Looking forward to your responses!

If I drove the highways 5 day/ week...I'd look into a clear bra. Bit pricey but way better protection than any wax
On my G35, i'd say 95% of all the rock chips are from driving on the highways.

Salt (granular and liquid brine) will be your enemy this winter, well that and the snow, ice, rain and of course sand. You'll need to wash and wax more often. Ultimate Wax is a good choice for daily drivers. Using Ultimate Quik Wax when drying your car will add some boost to your Ultimate Wax between those times you can't do a full wax. Strife's pointer is a good one too.
