I Know that convetional wisdom says that small holes or "patches" of "missing" clear coat are "the kiss of death" in terms of repairability. My porsche has several areas of tiny holes or 4" to 10" dia. patches where the clear coat ridges may be seen as white lines. The area covered by the cc is foggy, and needs vigorous rubbing with Meg's Ultimate Compound.. but the mystery to me is that the areas without the clear coat cover easily polish to a brilliant shine. Is there some way I can keep that great Porsche red and remove only the remaining clear coat? Then it would be compounded for even shade and finish, then replace all clearcoat at once. It really is not cost concern as much as keeping a paint quality (and originality) that I may not be able to duplicate.
The car is priceless to me and after weeks of fruitless research I'm very discouraged. CRobert
