I apply by hand with a foam applicator. I let it haze, then remove. Don't let it sit for too long as it will become more difficult to remove.

You can, but it is easier to remove if you start removing it after it hazes. At least that has been my experience with it.

Just to chime in on this thread...

There are no Meguiar's waxes that have to be left on the finish for an hour to dry. Most Meguiar's waxes will cure/dry to the point that they can be removed in 10 to 20 minutes depending on temperature and humidity. The best way to tell if a Meguiar's wax is ready to remove is to use the Swipe Test

            The Swipe Test
How to tell when a Meguiar's wax is ready to remove

A good rule of thumb for knowing when a Meguiar?s wax is ready to remove, is to wait until the wax dries to a haze and swipes clear using the Swipe Test. In most cases, in most climates, this should be approximately 10 to 15 minutes after application. In warmer climates, it will hedge towards the 10 minute range, and in colder, wet climates, it will take longer and hedge towards the 15 and even 20 to 25 minute range. Other factors include how thick of a coat you applied, relative humidity and air flow.

Another way to test if the wax has set-up long enough besides measuring with time, is to perform the Swipe Test.

The swipe test is where you take your clean finger, and swipe it briskly across the finish with the wax on it. If the paint is clear, without residue where your finger made the swipe, the wax is ready to wipe-off. If the area you have swiped is smudgy, or streaky, or there is noticeable wax in the swipe area, then the wax has not set-up long enough and you should allow more time for the wax to set-up before your remove it.

If you remove it before it has set-up, you will risk removing too much of the wax from the surface and thus leave less than engineered to remain behind on the finish.

Once enough time has passed and your coating of wax swipes clear, remove the wax using a clean, soft premium microfiber polishing cloth such as Supreme Shine Microfiber polishing cloths, or with a clean, 100% cotton, terry cloth towel like our Ultra Plush Terry Cloth towels,

              Thanks for that.

I leave it on for 1hr because i know its dry.
Last time i buffed it off thinking it was dry it smeared.

As far as application of M16 goes...

M16 is a pure wax this means it should only be applied to new finishes, or finishes that have been previously washed, clayed, cleaned and polished till the surface feels as smooth as new glass.

Then, apply a very thin coating. It is important to apply a thin coating because after M16 sets-up, it becomes very hard, thus the term hard wax as it is sometimes referred to.

Then to remove it, use a microfiber polishing cloth or a clean soft terry cloth towel, something with a nap, (little loops of fiber), to break an area free from the continuous layer of wax film, and then move out from that area removing wax, turning you cloth over often.

M16 can be a real arm breaker if you apply to thick of a coat. The key to removing this product and getting good results is to only apply it to a finish in the proper condition and to use a high quality polishing cloth with good technique to remove it.

Your first time out, you might consider only applying it to a single panel such as a fender or the hood, or the trunk lid.

                Hope this helps...

                Mike

                p.s.

To remove M16 from the can, spin you foam applicator briskly on the top of the wax in the can. This will tend to liquefy the wax and enable it to penetrate into the foam. DO NOT scoop this type of wax out of the can and try to apply it this way. (Like you would A12 Cleaner/Wax in the paste version).

Correctly used, M16 applies like a liquid.

No. I would say that compared to all the other waxes in Meguiar's line-up, M16 even when applied using a thin coating on the proper finish will always be the most difficult to remove. By contrast, all of our other waxes when applied using a thin coat wipe off pretty easy.

Try a test spot with these two waxes and see for yourself.

The key to removing M16 is to use a quality towel with a nap, use good technique and take your time. Remember, you're trying to create beauty.

I have to say NXT on its own creates beauty m8.

So is a Terry Towel ok to buff it up with or is a MF Cloth better??

                      Thanks

Just my personal experience here, I find a super soft 100% cotton terry cloth towel to be best for the first pass and then for any remaining remnants of wax, switch over to microfiber. Both will work however. What is important is that the toweling you use is soft and gentle. If you have them available to you, check into either of these as they both offer a soft nap...

Try each one in a test area and see which works best for you. Be sure to inspect the finish results to make sure your choice isn't instilling any micro-marring.

                            Have fun!
