  • Carbon vinyl

    Hi!

I have a carbon fiber look a like vinyl for 2 years. The car is outside 24/7. And it was ok but since last year's winter it has changed. And now in the summer it's........

    Any ideas ?

That appears to be damaged beyond repair. While vinyl wraps usually last longer than this, there are all sorts of reasons why they might fail, but once they've been damaged to this extent they really can't be restored, sorry.

This is how it looks after it's been standing in sun for a few days. But if it rains and dry's it less damaged for a few days. It basiclly changes on the weather. If it snows than it's almost gone.

I will wash the car tomorrow and i will take a pic.

This is how it look after i wash the car only with water.

It is like it's going matte. I was thinking of trying the Meguiars Clear Plastic Polish #10.

        Thanks

The problem is that once vinyl starts to degrade like this, there isn't much that will really restore it. #10 is designed for clear plastics, the sort of material your headlight lenses are made from. You'd be better off giving it a good cleaning with something like M39 or even a glass cleaner, than applying Ultimate Black or Ultimate Protectant to it. That should make it look a bit better, but even that may not last very long. This is just a material that doesn't lend itself to restoration.

              Re: Carbon vinyl

              ^^^Where?
how about your local Auto Parts Store and get some kind of vinyl cleaner?
You don't have to get Meg's but get some kind of vinyl cleaner protectant on it asap.
