I was just about to post up the same question. I did the hood with all the steps to see how it would look once i did the whoel car (black). And it still has some swirls, their definately not as bad as they were but still there. I used NXT on it, i only have one coat on now, maybe if i was to put on the 2nd coat it would hide more? But what i wanted to ask, if what if i was to use Gold Class? Or maybe even Gold Class topped with NXT would i gett better results?

Thanks for the reply. Im going to try the NXT and see what that does to the car.

I use NXT on my black truck.. Its odd because after I wax it and if I put it outside and the sun hits it right it looks like a milky brown color. Few hours later its DARK BLACK! Im realy happy with what the NXT does on black. Im eager to try the Gold Class wax. From reading here it seems like Gold Class is great on black too.

You may also want to apply some #80 or #81 polish before you wax a black car.

Carnauba wax, such as #26, makes black paint look darker and deeper than do other products.

Thats one thing I need to purchase is the G-100 so I can use those products and get the black truck looking better. SOON, very soon. I was kinda waiting to see if they were going to run a spring promotion. If not, oh well

                  Hey,

A LSP like NXT Tech Wax will only hide very minor swirls at best. The swirls need to be removed using products like #80 Speed Glaze or perhaps #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish, all completed with a G100 and the proper pads. However, 2 coats of NXT following a coat of #81 Hand Polish will make a big difference!!!

If you are after a real deep black look, I suggest using Meguiar's Gold Class. It will darken the finish more than NXT.

And....just for clarification, #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax is a blended wax and not a pure carnauba. When used with a Polymer Sealant like #20, the #26 will add depth and warmth to the paint. NXT offers this trait plus the reflectivity of a polymer at the same time, so topping it may not be needed, IMHO.

                  Cheers!

I'll second 2hotford's recommendation for NXT over a pure polish. (oops! didn't mean to leave you out RamAirV1)

On a recent visit I gave my Mom's black '91 Lexus a once over using a PC, MPPC, DC#2 and NXT. She took it to the dealer for servicing a week later, and the service manager asked her to call him first if she ever wanted to sell it...

I use DC2 and NXT by hand on my black Lightning. EVERY time I take it in for servicing, I get a call from the dealer a few days later asking me if I want to "trade up" to a newer truck! It's a '99 and still looks better than most ANY truck I see.

I also agree with above thoughts... I always use some type of polish. I really like #81 and have also had good luck with DC#2 and last weekend I just used #80. All have enhanced the look prior to NXT. Polish is a great idea!

On a black car, you will not get a much noticeable difference by the type of wax you use - its all in the prep for darker shades.

That being said, I like #26 or #16, depending on how easily I feel like removing wax that day.

                              So by hand your guys are recommending;

                              1) NXT Wash
                              2) Clay
                              3) DCS #1
                              4) DSC #2
                              5) NXT x2

** ScratchX for problem areas with minor scratches or swirls?

That what I play to do today if things at work slow down some.

                              QUESTIONS:

Will Show Car Glaze give me a higher gloss then DSC #2?
Will Gold Class Wax give deeper gloss then NXT??
Could I ever top the gold class wax with NXT wax?

                              Thanks,
