Also do you think it might just eventually come out after multiple washes?
Also it is good to see another Aussie on here I have been reading this forum for a long time now (lots of good guides) but never had a serious enough question to ask nor knew enough to contribute so never needed to join.

Yes, I think it will come out after multiple washes, seemed to on the front of my car.

Yes, ultimate polish is a mild cleaner/polish, meaning when applied with a bit of vigour (light to moderate pressure) it should theoretically remove whatever wax or polish is already on the surface, including in the chips.

Then you can top off with a clear drying wax, like #26.

oh yea steam will work to. just watch the temp of the paint. don't hold it in one place to long. just heat and wipe

Re: How do I remove polish and wax stuck in all the chips and scratches?

I have detailed similar problems on several dark colored/black vehicles. I wash, clay and then go over the car, panel by panel, with a 5% IPA solution. I let this solution dwell for a minute on a panel, but not dry, and then rewash the panel dry and inspect. If there is a stubborn spot I use a soft paint brush to agitate the IPA solution into the crack. scratch or chip. Sometimes what you think is wax residue could be primer showing so don't expect miracles.

I normally use UW liquid as it doesn't dry white. Any wax that is safe on textured plastic should be fine. UW liquid doesn't leave white residue as it dries but the paste version may. I also like to use Meguiar's D156 (a.k.a.Ultimate Quik Wax) after every wash and it likewise doesn't dry white.

I've also been experimenting with coatings lately and they seem to offer a better appearance on damaged paint. The coatings are thicker than the sealants and seem to fill and hide paint defects better, IMO. They also claim to be permanent and have UV inhibitors so the results should last.

I tried the IPA solution just now and it didn't seem to do the trick but I had a meguiars rep come into work the other day and he recommended using the ultimate compound and demonstrated it on my car, It helped more than the IPA did but still didn't get rid of everything. It also seems to be getting a little better over time though so I might try using the UC on a really badly affected area and if it does not go well I will just keep washing until it goes out.

Are you sure its not primer you're seeing?

Just seems strange that it would be so hard to remove the white spots.

Did you end up trying clay to remove them?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I use a big horse hair art bruch that I have trimmed down to make the bristles stiffer. I find that a tooth brush , no matter how soft it is will sometimes leave scratches. Frum the look of the pictures, perhaps all the white in not from the product and may be primer showing and only paint will fix that.

I don't think it is the primer because there where some scratches before with the primer showing and it was a grey primer not white. Also these scratches where always there it was only after the polish and wax that it had showed.
