  • Can you recommend me products to detail Suzuki Grand Vitara ?

    Hey folks,

I've bought a used car and I would like to clean it inside-out. my seats and such look really nasty. There is dirt in cracks etc. on most of the interior such as door panels, seats, and the center console parts.

Can you recommend me products for my car to clean interior and then polish it? There are tons of specific products out there (like 10 types of plastic cleaners) and I don't which of them I should pick up

If it were me, no question I would get my hands on some Meguiar's All-Purpose Cleaner, or All-purpose Cleaner Plus. It comes in concentrate form, lasts a very long time, can be used to clean plastics, rubbers, cloth and more (and many household things) and is very, very good at all of those things. It's excellent for getting that gunk and stuff that is well set, too.

As for a final treatment, it depends on your gloss preference - how much shine do you want?

You can clean the interior with water and a few drops of soap in a spray bottle. Spray, brush, wipe.
APC is a Strong cleaner for greasy stuff. But just for wiping down I wouldn't use such a stronger cleaner unless the soapy water can't cut threw the grease. Remember the golden rule: "Use the least aggressive method".
As far as your paint goes. There are a million different waxes and techniques.
The simple answer for a novice is wash, clay and wax.
Keep it simple and learn as you go.
Meg's Cleaner wax will clean, polish (a little) and clean your paint. Cleaning the paint is important so I can say start there.

            For paint:

I would clay first, then Cleaner wax or ColorX. Cleaner wax is a very good starter product, basically a 3 in one product. ColorX is also a cleaner wax but the cleaners are a bit more aggressive.

For the tires, Gold Class endurance or Hot shine, depending on the look you're after.

            For the interior:

After removing all the dirt, grit and grime from the vinyl surfaces, there are many choices. For protecting plastic, rubber and vinyl you can use Natural Shine Protectant which i prefer since having shiny panels/dashboards isn't really the nicest thing to have. Ultimate Protectant is a very good product, may be a bit shinier than natural shine, but the kind of shine leans towards the natural look and is the most durable protectant.
