Hi everyone
Since purchasing my first car 5 years ago I've always done all my detailing by hand. Being a newbie at detailing and owning my first car I was paranoid about wrecking my paint using a power tool. I have done some research on DAs and orbitals in the past, and I had picked up an orbital a year or two ago in a garage sale but didn't use it. I used it once during my last detail due to the weather turning bad and night coming in a desperate attempt to apply my last coat of wax before nightfall on a sunday. The ease at putting my layer of NXT on and the improved look of my paint even in dusk lighting was enough to make me do more research into a proper DA. From what I have read so far a G110v2 would be the tool for me but I'm not 100% sure. I have a few questions, this is more or less a daily driver that sees all the elements a Canadian climate can offer and is 10 years old. Realistically I'm not expecting to end up with a showroom finish without a spec of defect anywhere. Time has created its share of bad scratches/scuffs from previous owners as well as rocks leaving their mark. But there are swirls/light scratches that are removable. Is this the right tool? What other accessories would I need? What kind of pads/how many/ 2 sizes?(I was reading the write up thread on G110 operation for newbies and saw mention of 4" pads for tighter areas.) Is there anywhere this can be ordered from within Canada to avoid the costs involved in shipping over the border? I'll probably have more questions later.
Thanks in advance for your help.
