  • NXT Wax 2.0 with Yellow #26

    Hello all,

    I was getting
ready to detail my car this weekend and had one quesstion.
I am going to start by washing then claying, swirl remover, polish, NXT Tech Wax 2.0, and
final step Meguairs #26 Yellow wax.

Question is should I apply the NXT
from Meguairs first then the Meguairs #26 yellow wax? Or Vice Versa?

My thinking is if I lay down the #26 wax I get that deep rich shine and then get
long lasting protection on the shine with NXT wax over it. Any thoughts or
    suggestions?

Re: NXT Wax 2.0 with Yellow #26

The basic rule is to apply the synthetic first, then carnauba coat last, this is because Carnauba will add depth to the sealant/synthetic wax, synthetic waxes (or sealants) usually lack depth and warmth of carnaubas. M26 is a good product, works real well on dark colors, having said that, it is hard to get depth from silvers so you may want to do a small area first before doing the entire car. NXT 2.0 may be all you'll need on silver. As for protection, if for example you get 2 months protection with a coat of NXT 2.0, it won't necessarily mean you'll get twice the protection with 2 coats or an additional coat of carnauba or a carnauba-synthetic hybrid like M26.

Not a lot to add to ffboy's response - he's pretty much spot on with everything here. Nice work!

I do own a silver car so I am quite familiar with it. Having said that, I do find NXT 2.0 works real well even on dark paint so even if it works best on silver or other light colors. And I did learn a lot by joining meguiarsonline, so I owe a lot to everyone in this forum.
