Hey guys new here and I'm confused on what to use I have a 2012 TL. I had it detailed and afterwards it didn't look that great so a week go by and I decided I was going to do it myself. I purchased a clay kit, UC, UP and UPW. I have been studying the forums and I know too wash, clay compound polish and wax. After washing and claying I did a small test area of UC and it left it very hazy so I thought I maybe left it on there to long so I added a little more and that made it worst, I stopped and now I'm stuck. I was going to buy a DA polisher but if I can screw this up I may have to rethink about that purchase. Sorry for the long rant but any help would be great.

Re: Confused?
I kind of meant which type of applicator..
It sounds like your paint might be a little soft, and the UC is too strong. In that case you would want to go to a milder product, not stronger.
However, the applicator is also important. Using something like terry coarse also makes things more agressive. You are going to want to be sure of using a smooth foam applicator so things are applied gently.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: Confused?
If not for Ultimate Polish, I would recommend using SwirlX. I read somewhere in one of the threads or posts that swirlX is slightly more aggressive than Ultimate Polish. I would apply SwirlX first (test spot) then follow up with ultimate polish apply 2 times and check if the results are swirl free and clear shiny paint.

Re: Confused?
I would try using Ultimate Polish first, make 2 passes. If not, I would give swirlX a shot. I read somewhere here that it is slightly more aggressive than Ultimate Polish. I'd do a test spot using these 2, I'd make 2 passes with each product, apply wax. If results are swirl free and shiny and clear paint, then you may just have gound your ideal combination of products.

But not much is discussed when the paint is so delicate that almost no matter how you touch it,2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
