Does anyone know if a 2002 Audi is going to be a clear coat paint or single stage??

I would think it should have clear coat.

The best thing to do is to test it yourself. Use a paint cleaner such as ultimate compound and apply a small amount to a foam applicator pad. Work the product against a small section of the paint. If your foam applicator pad pulls off color then it's single stage. If it doesn't then it's BC/CC.

I am going to go out on the limb and say it is for sure clear coated.

If it's black or white there's a 0.00001% chance it's single stage, otherwise it's definitely clear coated, provided it's still wearing all factory paint and no resprayed color. All bets are off in that case. But even if, by some bizarre chance, it is a factory single stage, it's going to be a modern catalyzed single stage and not the old school single stage lacquer that was applied to the cars in the 1970's and before.

What's the condition of the paint and/or what are you looking to accomplish with it?
