• Lexus paint

I'm going to be working on a 2009 Lexus IS 250. Does anyone know if that's a fairly hard paint?? It has some pretty bad swirling and scratches. I plan on starting with UC and 8006 pad...I'm new to this if I need to go more aggressive Should I start by going with a more aggressive pad or product??

    Re: Lexus paint

I saw somewhere on this forum that the Lexus paint is softer than most. But always softer first and if it does not work try the harder approach. Or do a very small test area that is not as visible as other parts of the body.

Thanks for the input. I plan on a small test area...I know a polish won't take it out...have you used UC?? That's about as mild a compound as they have isn't it?? Maybe I should start with a finishing pad first.

We have a Lexus and I started a thread that might provide some information for you. However, I am not sure about swirls. You might want to do a search using "swirls" as the keyword.

This is all new to me and need help. We have two cars that need a lot of work. -2006 Lexus that we bought used 3 years ago. Since we purchased it, it has not been polished or waxed. Since June of 2011 it has been parked outside. The paint looks good, but it is not smooth.
