  • 5-Step Paint Care Cycle - Outdoors only / 2 days?

    Hello,
I'm an apartment dweller without access to a garage, I do have water and electric. I live in southern California and have the summer heat to consider.

I need your advice. Assuming only 3-4 hours of cool, overcast morning, how would you go about doing a full 5 step detail on a car.

    Plan 1
    • Evening of Day 1 Wash and clay at night.
    • Morning Day 2 Use microfiber and IPA the following morning to get off any accumulated dirt / pollen
    • Morning / Afternoon Day 2 Polish the whole car and LSP

    Plan 2
    • Day 1 Wash and clay hood, top, trunk. Polish hood, top, trunk.
    • Day 2 Wash Car, clay sides and bumpers. Polish sides and bumpers.
    • Afternoon Day 2 LSP

I have a DA and the Meg's MF pads and polish.

    I would:
    Day one:
    1. Wash
    2. Clay
    3. Clean/polish as much as possible.

    Day two:
    1. QD wipe down
    2. Finish cleaning/polish
    3. Wax

You could also consider clay/polish/wax a panel at a time. Top, hood, and trunk panels first. My $0.02.
