Is a velcro pad holder available for the Porter Cable random orbit polisher? I have the screw in pad system on my PC rop, but I'd like to be able to use Meguiars velcro polishing pads. Much easier to change pads.

Backing plates - polishing pads
What I'm actually looking for, and I have a request into Porter Cable, is the holder that attaches to the tool that holds the polishing pads. It will probably have to be ordered from Porter Cable. Thanks for the reply.Comment

Actually you DO want the backing plate that mheaford is referring to. The picture in the link is of a pad, not the backing plate.Mr. Miyagi says: "Wax on, wax off"Comment

mheaford and black240sx are right. That's the correct backing plate. As far as I know Porter-Cable doesn't even make one. (They might have a Velcro plate made for sanding disks but I don't think they have one intended for foam pads.)

Velcro pad for Porter Cable Polisher
After some digging, here's what I've found. Porter Cable makes a velcro (hook and loop) pad that works on the 7335 and 7336 Random Orbit sander / polisher. The 5" is part #15000 ($24.24). The 6" pad is #18001 ($27.27). I called Meguiars and they happen to have a conversion kit just for the PC rop. The hook and loop pad, with three polishing pads is about $37.00 including shipping. So the Meguiars deal is the best deal by far. They should advertise that kit in the catalogue. Thanks for your replies. I appreciate it.Comment

They're in the pro series print catalogs and on the website in the "Professional Store" section.
