  • Does this product work

I tried these on the car and I still have swirl mark's and scratches. What am I doing wrong with these? I know I don't have good pad's. The thing is what is the difference between pad. Like the one's Meguiar's sell's and the one's you can get from detailing store's.

    chevyman,

Of the products you have pictured, only the fine-cut cleaner will remove significant swirls.

I'm guessing that you are using a PC. Keep in mind that a PC is a "polisher". Depending on how bad the swirls are, you may need a rotary "buffer" with more aggressive products.

While a PC can do some fine work, it will NOT do the paint correction work that a rotary buffer can.

Maybe you could post some pics so we can see the affected areas.

Well, the better the pads the better the results. What kind are you using? And you are using a G-100, or rotary?

DC#1 will not remove swirls, it is just a chemical paint cleaner.

Even the body scrub and #9 arent overly strong. You may need a more aggressive product, like #83, or something.

            chevyman,

Yes they are, but within reason. The suggestion to try #83 is a good one, and about the limit of the PC.

            Try multiple passes with it.
            Move the PC slowly.

Older formula #2 wasn't designed for the PC. The new VOC compliant #2 formula is for use by hand, DA, or rotary. Still doesn't answer the. There are limits to the PC and its swirl removal abilities. The price to pay for safety.

The PC does not offer an aggressive enough polishing action to effectively breakdown the type of diminishing abrasives used in what we refer to as the traditional Mirror Glaze Line, this would be products like, M01, M02, M04.

On the back of the label it should read for application by rotary buffer only.

The best products for removing swirls in the Meguiar's line using a dual action polisher are the cleaner/polishes in the 80's series.

                M83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish
                M80 Speed Glaze
                M82 Swirl Free Polish
                M09 Swirl Remover 2.0

The M83 and the M80 are the most effective when applied with the dual action polisher.
